I am a Bristol-based upholsterer and chair artist, that is, someone who makes sculptural objects using the chair frame as a base and the craft of upholstery as a medium or starting point for the creation of art pieces.
My work has been exhibited at: London Metropolitan University; the Interiors Show at the NEC; Clerkenwell Design Week; Ruthin Craft Centre; the Joseph Studios in Bristol; the Medicine House at the Blackden Trust; Plas Glyn-y-Weddw gallery, Llanbedrog; the National Centre for Craft and Design in Sleaford, the Dorman Museum in Middlesbrough and MoMA Machynlleth.
My Blodeuwedd chair is currently on display at MOMA (Museum of Modern Art) Machynlleth as part of the Petals and Claws travelling exhibition celebrating the 50th anniversary of the publication of Alan Garner’s The Owl Service.
